Girlfriend Getaway to Cabo San Lucas

Need a spa getaway with the girlfriends? Or planning a destination wedding? The Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is the place for both. In 2007 I talked my sister into a spa weekend at the Pacifica and I promise she was thanking me. We were able to getaway from the kids and the jobs and relax at one of the most beautiful resorts in the world. This was my forth time to Cabo and this resort was my FAVORITE!!!

6 things I've learned about Cabo...

1) Perfect place for Peace, Quiet and Relaxation
2) It has the best of both worlds, with the mountains right on the ocean
3) Americanized - everyone speaks English and most shops and restaurants are owned by Americans
4) Great shopping in downtown Cabo San Lucas
5) There are very few people on the beach, because the ocean is not swimable except in specific areas
6) World class golf courses right next to the ocean

Cancun, MX

Cancun would be my favorite beach destination in the world. I've been 8 times in the last decade, and I'm sure I will be going for years to come.

Favorite Hotels: Riu Cancun, Moon Palace, Iberostar Quetzal, Iberostar Paraiso

Five things I've learned about Cancun...

1) The water is crystal blue and gorgeous no matter what area you stay.
2) You will only find nightlife and action up on the hotel zone in Cancun.
3) The peace and quiet is on the Mayan Riviera, which is about 35 minutes down the coast from Cancun.
4) I have visited snorkeling park Xel-Ha every time I go, and I find a new area every time I visit.
5) I've probably spent 40 days in Cancun and have yet to do every tour. My favorite Mayan Ruin is Tulum and its not because of the nude beach next door. :)

Sheryl Crow & James Blunt Concert (Salt Lake City, UT)

I went to the Sheryl Crow concert last night at Usana. Camera's were not allowed or of course I would have snapped some pics. James Blunt opened for her and he rocked the house.

She sang all the oldies from my high school dayzzz...

All I Wanna Do
Are You Strong Enough To Be My Man
Leavin Las Vegas

And the newer hits...

The First Cut is the Deepest
Soak Up the Sun

She was amazing!!

Grandpa's 90th Birthday - Othello, WA

Grandpa Glen turned 90 years old over the weekend. All ten kids gathered together with their families to celebrate a great family man! So, of course I hit the road to join them in the farming town of Othello, Washington.

Happy 90th Birthday Grandpa!

Denver, CO - Bronco's vs. Cowboy's

Last weekend was the Girlfriend Getaway, this weekend was the Bronco's game with the hubby and next weekend is the family reunion. I'm trying to fit all of the weekend trips I can into the month of August. One of these days I will learn how to just stay home.

We took to the road for an 8 hr drive to Denver to watch the Bronco's in a pre-season game against the Dallas Cowboys. I have to admit I was there to see Romo, but I wore my Bronco's gear as only the wife of a Bronco's fan should.

3 things I learned...

1) Parking near Invesco Field is a nightmare. 1 mile away and $25 dollars later we were finally in the stadium.
2) Feet warmers are HEAVEN when sitting for 5 hours in the rain.
3) The Bronco's are # 1. (Sorry Tony)

Road Trippin
(Each of us listening to our own Playlists)

After presenting on Wind Energy the night before,
I was excited to see my first wind farm in Wyoming.
Everyone should learn all they can about Wind Energy.

Do you think I have enough gear?

Here they come.
I'm sure their uniforms are flame retardent.

Girlfriend Getaway - Park City, UT

I'll take any excuse to go on vacation even if it is just for the night. My girlfriends and I drove about 40 minutes away to Park City, UT and spent 24 hours eating, drinking and reading. Yes, READING! We enjoyed the final edition of the Stephenie Meyer Twilight series "Breaking Dawn." We all gave the book two thumbs up!

Check-out the pics...
